Pelvic Floor Chair Session in Derry: What to Expect

Fully clothed. No internal procedure. A session focused on your pelvic-floor muscles. If you are considering the Ultra Tesla chair in Derry, knowing what happens can make that first appointment much easier. Here is your step-by-step guide.

Before your first session

You will be asked about your symptoms, medical history, medications, previous surgery and any implanted medical devices. This is important because electromagnetic treatments have contraindications and are not suitable for everyone.

You should also mention pregnancy or recent childbirth, pelvic surgery, cancer treatment, unexplained bleeding, pain, infection symptoms or any current medical investigation. In some situations, we’ll ask you to obtain medical advice or clearance before treatment.

What should you wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to sit naturally. You do not need to undress. You may be asked to remove metal items such as keys, a belt, coins or electronic devices from your pockets before sitting on the chair.

What happens on the chair?

You sit in the centre of the chair so the pelvic floor is positioned correctly. The treatment intensity begins low and is increased gradually according to your comfort and the treatment protocol.

Clients commonly describe a strong rhythmic contracting, tapping or tingling sensation through the pelvic-floor area. The muscles contract automatically, so you do not need to perform repeated voluntary squeezes throughout the session.

The manufacturer describes sessions of approximately 30 minutes, although your individual appointment and protocol will be confirmed by the clinic.

Does it hurt?

The treatment is intended to be non-invasive and comfortable, but the sensation can feel unusual or intense. Tell us immediately if you experience pain or feel unwell. Intensity can be adjusted rather than endured.

What happens afterwards?

There is normally no procedure-related downtime, so most people can return to their usual day. Muscle awareness or temporary fatigue may be possible. Follow the advice given at your appointment and report any unexpected or persistent symptoms.

How many sessions will I need?

The manufacturer commonly describes a course of six sessions, but no fixed course can guarantee a result. Your plan should be based on suitability, response and goals, and should be reviewed rather than automatically continued.
